Development of Synthetic Combustion Fuel using Algae as a Resource
With the goal of developing a novel technology for biofuel production, using microalgae at a commercial scale and environmental CO2 as a carbon source. This will decrease the cost of biofuel production and also reduce the impact on global warming through CO2 sequestration.
The whole process is included in the project, from suitable microalgal strain selection to large scale biofuel production along with CO2 sequestration. Key highlights are:
- Isolation, screening and evaluation of naturally occurring photosynthetic microalgae strains that exhibit high growth rate and high oil content.
- Optimization of parameters for the enhancement of biofuel production along with CO2 sequestration through selected strain.
- Design and construction of feasible model for culture harvesting.
- Development of design for large-scale production using optimized parameters and analytical data.
