Objectives Of The Program

Rapid industrialization and urbanization have brought various challenges in the areas of human health and environmental degradation. The Environmental Audit scheme was introduced by GPCB for better environmental sustainability as per the directives of the judiciary. In order to make the scheme more effective, it is obviously very important to ensure obtaining skilled force for carrying out these audits effectively. A need to train Schedule-1 and Schedule-2 auditors has been recognized to strengthen the industrial/environmental monitoring.

Course Contents

All the session will be conducted in online mode

Topics:

• Introduction (consents, parameters, sampling- air, water and solids).
• Problems related to water and wastewater analysis.
• Problems related to air quality monitoring.
• Problems related to hazardous waste and noise monitoring.

Intended Attendees

This STTP is planned for Environment Audit Consultants, Team Members of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 auditors and faculty members of Civil, Chemical and Environment Engineering, from Government Engineering Institutes, who are recognized as Environment Auditors by GPCB.

The Environment & Energy Efficiency Wing of GERMI has been established to research concerns of national and international importance related to the science, technology and management of environmental pollution and energy efficiency issues. The Environment & Energy Efficiency Group has its testing laboratory as GERMI Environmental Testing laboratory (GETL) focuses on services to help solve practical problems faced by industries.

Course faculty consists of eminent experts from government institutions/industries/ R&D organizations. Apart from in-house experts from environmental wing, Technical experts from Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) will also be invited to share the latest developments and their field experience with participants.
